The Small moments
you won’t want to miss.
Weddings
My approach
Journalistic at heart, I am often on the prowl for an intimate or authentic moment. Smile-for-the-camera moments are easy enough to curate — “Okay everyone! Can I get the bride’s family to gather around? Thank you very much. Now, look this way—find a window, step to the right a little—alright everyone smile!”
However, I learned to take photos at family events full of siblings and cousins who would make funny faces if I asked for a smile, high school parties where the moments I wanted to remember were never posed, and at community events so large that you couldn’t ever get the crowd together for a group photo. In my learning, I realized that many of the best memories come from small moments.
When you hire me as your photographer, you’re hiring me because you want to be fully present on your wedding day and don’t want to fuss about getting the perfectly posed shot. Don’t get me wrong, I have a lot of fun working with my clients to achieve personal and intimate couple poses in that little window before or after the ceremony. I also have a gift for wrangling your friends and family together for group shots and convincing even the most stubborn ring bearer to strike a pose. But where you’ll see me shine is in the in-between moments of your day.
Look at a few of the wedding albums I’ve shared in my blog. These will give you a feel for the small moments, as well as the key moments, that you’ll receive by having me join you on your day.
